Two years ago, my life began to shift in ways I couldn't have imagined. At the time, I had no idea of the journey I was embarking on or the magnitude of the transformation ahead. When you start to shift, everything around you moves; it becomes extremely uncomfortable. The things you used to accept are no longer tolerated. Your patience shortens, and the lenses through which you once viewed life becomes crystal clear you have laser tunnel vision.
As my life started to shift, I was overwhelmed my anxiety increased. Everything I knew was suddenly falling apart. Issues with my daughter, personal relationships, and a career that no longer served me—all of it seemed to explode at once. The corporate ladder had once fueled my soul; it was a part of me. But now, the things I was so sure of no longer felt solid. I remember crying out, “Why me? I’ve been through enough, and my daughter has seen enough.” I was fed up with life.
But soon, the question turned into, “Why not you?” Every wrong path, spiral, twist, and turn was made uniquely for me. Everything was preparation for this very moment, my evolution. When you start to evolve, everything you once knew changes. It’s the beginning of becoming unstoppable. Greatness evolves; excellence transpires.
My business, The Les Marie Firm, was born not from a great idea or a million-dollar venture, but from a responsibility and a calling that woke me up one night and has kept me awake ever since. I was about to change the game in business. I left a six-figure salary, guaranteed income, and a comfortable lifestyle to have a seat at my own table. I created a table for other like-minded individuals, paving the way for dreamers and game-changers to bring their visions to life.
For years, I tried to be a mold of what everyone else thought I should be, to fit in. But when you keep forcing and tugging, something is bound to break. I broke. I then started to piece myself back together, discovering who I really was. See for years the problem was, I was trying to be average, not comprehending greatness was declared over me and my daughter’s life. Les Marie was born, and I finally evolved. I accepted that I was put on this earth to change lives and make a difference. Nothing about me is average or ordinary!
I often reflect on the years I wasted not living to my full potential, watering myself down to fit in, and dimming my light for others to be comfortable, even down to my vocabulary. I was living in turmoil trying to fit in being AVERAGE! Now fast forward to Today, in my new office, I look around and smile and laugh because I emerged from the fire stronger than ever. I needed every trial, breakdown, and disappointment to prepare for this moment. It’s game time….My grind is different, my hustle is different, my ambition is different, my walk is different. When you are destined for greatness, you shine different. Them blessings hit differently! Through this journey I have wanted or lacked for nothing. Gods has given me the provision and resources for the Firm to be successful and thrive.
I say this to every person discouraged, uncomfortable or scared for their evolution:
Be okay with being uncomfortable. Your vision and goals are your responsibility; no one else can live out your dreams. It’s a lonely, solitary road to the top, but once you get there and look back, you will be astounded at what you’ve built. You will be at peace and proudly say, “I won!”
I encourage you to build that business, apply for that job, take that leap of faith. Ultimately, when it’s all said and done, be who God created you to be. And baby that ain’t AVERAGE! Be unstoppable. Become a force to be reckoned with. Be a beast with your ambitions. Become a soldier at life; the world will not make it easy for you. Stop asking people for directions to places they have never been. No one has the GPS to your dreams. Keep going! Nothing in life worth having will be easy, you can’t skip the difficult, uncomfortable times on your journey. Continue to evolve. In the end, the ultimate goal is to win.
Warm Regards,
Les Marie
